How do you install a rubber waterstop on a concrete wall

Installation process:

The rubber waterstop is installed before pouring concrete, and the sequence must not be wrong.

  1. Ensure flatness and cleanliness

Because the main function of rubber waterstop is waterproofing, it needs to tightly adhere to the upper and lower objects with tight joints. Therefore, during construction, the bottom should be cleaned first, and the joint should be ensured to be flat and clean.

  1. Fixed waterstop

This is very important. When you finally clean it up, place it in the correct position, and prepare to pour or connect the rubber waterstop, if it suddenly moves, not only will the previous efforts be in vain, but it may also cause material loss. And the rubber waterstop is stored rolled up and cannot be naturally straightened in a short period of time. It can be fixed with fixtures to prevent misalignment.

①. Before binding the steel bars, expansion joint positioning lines should be marked on the cushion layer or lower layer of concrete to determine the position of the expansion joint

②. After the steel bars are tied, place the waterstop. Fix the two ends of the waterstop with positioning steel bars and flat steel. Use flat steel to tighten the two ends of the waterstop and weld it to the structural steel bars or positioning steel bars

③. The flat steel is fixed with bolts at a certain distance to ensure that the hollow ring in the middle of the waterstop coincides with the center of the deformation joint. At the same time, the two ends of the rubber waterstop should be slightly raised at a horizontal angle of 15 ° to 30 ° with the hollow ring in the middle to facilitate the discharge of internal air during concrete pouring

④. The rubber waterstop set vertically should be fixed with concrete pads at a certain distance on the fixed steel bars, and its interface should be kept flat

⑤. To ensure the center elevation of the horizontal rubber waterstop, control lines should be marked on the template, and steel bars with waterstop rings should be spot welded at the bottom plate reinforcement to check the elevation

⑥. The method of hanging a plumb line from the bottom control line position is generally used to control the verticality of the vertical rubber waterstop

3: Timely exhaust

Before pouring, the rubber waterstop should be slightly raised on both sides to accelerate the air discharge during pouring. A dedicated person should also be responsible for the solid and exhaust near the rubber waterstop during pouring.

4: Pouring steps

After fixing the rubber waterstop, pour a layer of concrete higher than the waterstop to allow air to be quickly expelled under pressure. Finally, use a wooden stick to press the waterstop one by one to ensure that any air bubbles are completely expelled.

When pouring concrete, pay attention to changes in the external environment. As the main material of rubber waterstop is rubber, its ductility is greatly affected by temperature changes. 3: Store in a cool and ventilated place

Rubber waterstops should not be exposed to sunlight for a long time, and it is best not to be rained on to avoid contact between corrosive substances in rainwater and the product, which can shorten the service life of the rubber waterstop. Therefore, it should be stored in a ventilated and cool place.
