How to apply PVC waterstop

PVC waterstop is mainly used for foundation engineering that is integrated with concrete and installed in construction joints and deformation joints during concrete pouring. Such as tunnels, culverts, water diversion aqueducts, water retaining dams, liquid storage structures, underground facilities, etc. The construction method of PVC waterstop is the same as that of ordinary rubber waterstop. When pouring and burying, it is necessary to make the interface between it and the concrete flat, and the joint part should be firmly bonded. During the pouring and burying process, the concrete should be fully vibrated with appropriate force to ensure good bonding with the concrete and achieve the ideal waterproof effect. Attention should be paid to some issues during the construction of PVC waterstop. Due to the presence of many sharp stones and steel bars in concrete, it is important to avoid mechanical damage to the waterstop during operation. When positioning the plastic waterstop, it should be made to fit smoothly with the concrete interface, and there should be no flipping or twisting of the waterstop. Otherwise, it should be adjusted in a timely manner. When pouring and fixing the waterstop, it should be prevented from shifting and affecting the waterstop effect. This type of plastic waterstop joint can be secured using methods such as bonding and hot welding to ensure a firm joint. During the process of pouring concrete, attention should be paid to sufficient vibration to achieve full bonding between the PVC waterstop and the concrete.

  1. Preparation work: Ensure that the construction site is clean and prepare the necessary tools and materials, such as PVC waterstop, glue, scissors, etc.
  2. Measurement and cutting: According to actual needs, measure the length of the waterstop and use scissors to cut it to the appropriate size.
  3. Install water stop strip: Lay the PVC water stop strip at the predetermined position, ensuring that it fits smoothly with the concrete interface. At the joint, use glue to bond and tighten the waterstop.
  4. Fixed waterstop: Special fixtures, lead wires, or templates can be used to fix the waterstop in the concrete to prevent it from shifting during the pouring process.
  5. Pouring and burying concrete: After installing the waterstop, pour and bury the concrete. During the pouring and burying process, the concrete should be thoroughly vibrated with appropriate force to ensure good bonding with the waterstop.
  6. Quality inspection: After the construction is completed, conduct quality inspection to check whether the PVC waterstop is firmly installed and whether there are any leakage or other issues.
