Butyl Rubber & Mastic Strip Waterstop

Butyl Rubber Waterstops(Mastic Strip Waterstops) are a waterstop material. They offer great airtightness and strong bonding. Their self-adhesiveness is very high, and they can easily deform. They can bond directly to freshly poured concrete without adhesives in some cases. This fixes leakage from weak bonds between standard waterstop materials and concrete. They resist water, acids, alkalis, and aging. They are useful for water conservancy, hydropower projects, and various industrial and civil construction projects.

Usage Method

1. Use this product according to the design and construction needs.

2. Once you finish pouring the concrete and the surface dries, clean it well. Next, stick this product to the construction joint interface. Then, begin the next construction step.

3. If necessary for construction, workers can leave a shallow positioning groove in advance. Once the construction surface is hard and dry, clean it well. Then, embed it in the reserved groove and press it down firmly.

4. To make a joint, flatten it sideways. Overlap by more than 5 cm, then press to seal out water.

5. The construction surface must be solid and dry. It should also be free of oil stains, loose soil, and standing water. During use or transportation, pay attention to fire prevention and rain protection. If rain accidentally falls on it, you can dry it and use it again without reducing the effect.

6. Construction is not recommended on rainy days. If the weather is cold, people can adopt artificial heating methods for use. The construction temperature should be above 20℃. If conditions permit, you can use auxiliary heating for better results.
