Both rubber waterstops and PVC waterstops can be used for engineering waterproofing.
- Material
The main materials of rubber waterstop are rubber, chloroprene rubber, EPDM rubber, etc. The material of PVC waterstop is PVC plastic.
- Color
The color of rubber waterstops is mostly black, the original color of rubber, while PVC waterstops can be made in many colors, such as white, yellow, blue, etc., and can also be made in black.
- Performance
Rubber waterstops have high elasticity and good weather aging resistance, while PVC waterstops have high hardness and are resistant to acid and alkali (chemical) aging.
- Specific gravity
The specific gravity of rubber waterstops is approximately between 1.3-1.5, while the specific gravity of PVC plastic waterstops is approximately between 1.6-1.7.
- Model number
The models of rubber waterstops include buried type, externally attached type, steel edge type, and water swelling type. The models of PVC waterstops are mainly buried and externally attached.
There is basically no difference in other aspects, and in general, these two types of waterstops can be used interchangeably. However, in some engineering waterproofing requirements, the waterstop and waterproof board need to be welded, so only PVC waterstop can be used.
